  • Quiz Next Class!
If you were not in the lab, please write the reactions for the following.
Also make sure to write the the type of reaction taking place.
Rxn 1: A solution of silver nitrate reacts with hydrochloric acid to form a white precipitate and cloudy colorless solution.

Rxn 2:  When nitric acid is poured into a beaker filled with a solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate, a fountain of bubbles escape from the beaker, leaving only a clear, colorless solution.

Rxn 3:  When calcium metal is dropped into a solution of concentrated hydrochloric acid, white smokes rises, leaving a clear, colorless solution.

Rxn 4:  (CH3)2CHOH burns oxygen in the air when a match is taken to it.

Rxn 5:  A piece of soft, silvery sodium metal is dropped into a beaker of water creating a violent reaction where sparks can be seen as large amounts of vapor escape from the top of the beaker.
