In class:

  • Returned "Chemical Nomenclature" Exams
  • Reviewed section 10.1 homework
  • Began notes on The MOLE

Homework:
  • Read section 10.2 in textbook.  Take notes and answer section questions
  • Write a paragraph or 2 relating the concept of the mole and Avogadro's number
  • Tuesday will be a lab for all classes, please dress appropriately.
Other:
  • If you missed the test please attend the test make up session in Monticello 10/11 on Wednesday at 14:45.
  • If you scored 60% or lower on the Chemical Nomenclature test you have the opportunity to improve your score.
    • You must attend the Science Help Center on Tuesday (15:45 - 16:45) and get a note from the instructor.  If you show me the note on Wednesday, I will allow you to retake the test and will replace your former grade with the new one.  You can do the same if you have a private tutor.
Bonus:
  • 5 Points will be added to the test for the student that can make the longest word or sentence by spelling with the element symbols.  To get the credit you must include your name, your class period, and your response as a comment to this post.
    • Example:  TeNSiON - Tellurium, Nitrogen, Silicon, Oxygen, Nitrogen
